Ok, let's leave the world of computer-generated uber-girls and return to the land of the living. Time for another idol: making her AoV debut is Mari Shimomura, from Fuji Television's DVD SD Presents Fuji Musume.

I wasn't sure that I would review this DVD as Mari has only a 96cm bust measurement. But she's very personable, and the DVD did have an exotic island look; I wasn't able to figure out where the DVD was made until the eighth chapter when I got a clue. |

There's just nine chapters and a 'making of' segment, plus a bonus chapter of Mari winning a beauty contest sponsored by Studio Dream Makers, so the whole video runs a bare-bones 45 minutes. I've got some mild objections to some of the scenes with some overly quick edits ... but that's it for the negatives.

Mari looks great running on the beach towards us in order to introduce herself, leading into her profile which opens the DVD. Then in the first chapter, called Tropical Style, we have Mari walking amongst the royal palms with the blue sea behind and blue sky above, and the green lawn below. Then — exuberantly — she's on the beach. Chapter Two is named Holiday Style and Mari shares a fruit salad with us, reads a book, and looks marvelous relaxing on a hammock. Chapter Three is called Cool Style and Mari is deep into the heart of some rock and coral formations on the shoreline. I can hear the director's, "Come on Mari, lean toward me a little more; shows us more cleavage!" |

Chapter Four has Mari in Cooking Style. The highlight is not the heart-shaped pancakes she cooks. No, it's the small multi-striped bikini which reveals an almost indecent amount of breast flesh will capture your interest.
Five has Mari out in a light tropical rain wearing a black bikini. The chapter is called Adult Style. You can sense the effect of this steamy setting on the model, as well as the crew, as it looks very hot and wet. Before long we switch to a small tight bikini which she wears while lolling in the gentle waves on the beach.
Chapter Six is called Private Style and we have Mari in a sudsy, petal strewn bath-tub. However this scene is played for fun rather than sexyness. Seven begins with Mari in a tiny white bikini on the beach. Although the tone of this scene is playful, they give us a good number of very good shots which highlight Mari's bust, and there are at least three different bikinis which she appears in during this montage style chapter. All quite revealing, I might add. Eight begins with a bicycle ride, a visit to a super market, a picnic, and then Mari shows her stuff on a basketball court. |

Chapter Nine has some superb late afternoon and twilight scenes. Mari carries the video very well, and despite the fact that she often looks a tad smaller in the bust than what we want from a bikini idol — the stylist does a absolutely great job in maximizing her assets with perfect fits to everything we see her wearing.

So how did we figure out where Mari was for this DVD shoot? In Chapter Eight she makes a call on a pay phone, operated by GTE Pacifica, which is the phone system in the Northern Marianas. So it was another visit to Saipan. Four point zero out of four. |
